We’ve seen it popping up all over the world these days. Spa centers in little boutiques that also double up as cafes and bars. Some serve alcohol while others are restricted to handy cocktails sans the booze. In all of them, however, we can say that woman is queen and those working are there to serve her, particularly at Her Majesty’s Pleasures, the newest addition to Toronto’s Fashion House at King Street West. The ladies describe the place as a fun concept wherein one can get her nails done and receive a blow-out while treated to a full-service bar. This also means serving delicious eats from Delysees. Macarons with your pedicure, anyone?
The bartenders specialize in making customized cocktails based on an individual’s mood (sour, sweet, etc.) and the poison of one’s choice (gin, vodka, etc.) becomes the base for something really special.
There’s a beachy-like pedicure area and a rather incredible nail lacquer collection to choose from, including gel/shellac.
The blow-dry area includes retro television sets that put you in the mood.
Designed by renowned studio +tongtong, the place is meant for pampering you to the tee and that’s exactly what Her Majesty’s Pleasures provides you with.
If you plan on visiting Toronto, do take a stroll down King Street West and discover this little gem of a place. You may have to shell out the big bucks (hair styling from $20 – $75 and manicure/pedicure services ranging from $15 – $60) since property rentals are quite pricey in this region, but you will certainly love the experience of drinking champagne while munching on macaroons and having your toes painted while feeling like your lounging on the beach. Pretty cool!
